In 1947, Abraham "The Chief" Tropper founded Coda Resources in New York City's Garment District in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. With humble beginnings as a sewing notions supply company, Coda Resources developed into a multi-national enterprise that, today, includes Cambridge, STZ, Coda Retail Supply Solutions, and Amram Brands.
Abraham Tropper founded Coda Resources upon the simple principle of offering unparalleled service and high quality products. More than 70 years later, his family still operates the business with these values in mind.
1947
Abraham Tropper opens Coda Resources (called Central Supply) and begins selling notions in New York City.
1985
Coda relocates to its current 100,000 sq. ft. Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY.
1998
Cambridge is established as a division of Coda Resources.
2006
Cambridge opens up its Shenzhen offices to help facilitate its overseas manufacturing.
Cambridge opens up its first wholly owned manufacturing facility in Heze, China.
2007-2009
Cambridge expands product line to include hose clamps, terminals, and wire connectors.
2010
Cambridge expands its Heze facility by adding an additional 100,000 square feet of manufacturing.
2013
Cambridge introduces zipits™ retail product line.
2015
Cambridge acquires LDR Global Industries.
Cambridge begins to cross sell the LDR plumbing product line to its current customer base.
2016
Cambridge relocates key operations to its Chicago facility.
2017
Cambridge adds an additional 500 SKU’s to its HVAC product line.
2018
Coda continues expansion of its Heze facility with additional manufacturing.
2019
Cambridge sells LDR Fashion line. STZ entity is formed replacing LDR's rough plumbing offering.
Cambridge has been a leading manufacturer of premium HVAC products for two decades. Duct and pipe support straps conform to UL and other applicable standards.
